Volunteer clinical nurse can continue to care for her patients and save lives.

Name: Yisimash

Location: Amba Giorgis, Ethiopia

Occupation: Volunteer clinical nurse

Meet Yisimash, a 28-year-old volunteer clinical nurse who works in Amba Giorgis Clinic in Ethiopia. On a day to day basis she performs HIV checks to patients and prescribes them with medicine essential for them to live.

Yisimash is long-sighted and has never had an eye test or a pair of glasses in her life. As a result, she was having trouble seeing the prescriptions and medications, making her job and everyday life very difficult.

Did you know, 90% of the world's vision impaired are located in developing countries like Ethiopia?

When Yisimash visited our Vision Centre in Gondar Hospital, she was given an eye test and prescribed her first pair of brand-new, affordable glasses. She can now see clearly and can continue to care for her patients and save lives.

Without clear vision children can’t learn to get an education and adults can’t earn to care for their families and contribute to their communities. However, you can make all the difference today by making a donation.
