Our work Real stories Patrick - Threading a needle Name: Patrick Country: Sierra Leone Profession: Tailor Meet Patrick Tanba, a Tailor living in Sierra Leone. Before Patrick was seen by Vision Aid Overseas, he had been suffering for many years with his close vision. His blurred vision made it difficult for him to do his job properly. Simple tasks such as seeing the tape measure, threading the needle and cutting cloth became difficult. I thought I would have to give up being a Tailor, as it had become impossible to thread a needle and to retain the accuracy in my work. Hearing on the radio that a Vision Aid Overseas eye care team were visiting Koindu health clinic, Patrick realised that this might be his only chance at regaining his sight to be able to carry on with his career. Read the rest of his story below and see how a simple eye test and a pair of glasses changed Patrick’s life.
