Vision Aid Overseas have partnered with The Vintage Trap (TVT) to help bring eyecare services to children, adults and families living in isolated communities across Africa.

Established as a London, UK and European brand, TVT works with the likes of many international; music artists, footballers and celebrities alike, bringing together the most sought-after vintage eyewear pieces and customised tinted lenses for fashionable wear. Whether it is a client who purchases a new pair of eyewear from TVT for a holiday, or a celebrity client for an upcoming award show or music video – it is only right to pass on this joy from one side of the world to another, to a person in need of eyecare.

For every pair of eyewear sold, The Vintage Trap will donate a settled amount to support Vision Aid Overseas' eye care programmes across Africa.

Benjamin, founder of TVT told us:

Every person has an opportunity to help someone in need, or to bring awareness to causes where one may have influence big or small. By having a platform to connect people to having an impact on a greater cause is something we can all play our part in. It is incredible to see the work that Vision Aid Overseas has been doing for over 30 years and to support them and be a part of their mission.

Andy Holliday, Director of Fundraising and Communications, Vision Aid Overseas continued;

In many countries around the world, there isn’t a culture of wearing glasses and sometimes a lack of understanding of the need for or benefits of wearing them. Our partnership with The Vintage Trap will not only enable us to continue to provide much needed eye care and glasses to people in need but, it will also enable us to spread awareness of the growing issue of visual impairment which unfortunately affects more than 1.2 billion people worldwide. 89% of those affected living in developing countries.
