Vision Aid Overseas joins the Captain Tom 100 challenge This May bank holiday we will be celebrating the generous spirit of Captain Tom Moore, as Friday 30th April would have been his 101st birthday. To celebrate, from Friday April 30th to Monday May 3rd, we will be taking part in the #CaptainTom100 challenge. Over the bank holiday weekend we are challenging YOU to do any activity of your choice as long as it involves the number 100, to raise money for our work, providing eyecare for those who need it most. You could walk around your garden 100 times like Captain Tom, or run 100 times around your local park, cycle 100 miles, make 100 pancakes for you friends and family, draw 100 portraits, or even take a bath in 100 cans of baked beans! Start on Friday April 30th, finish your 100 challenge by the end of Monday May 3rd, and whatever you do – don’t lose count! If you want to take part you can create a fundraising page for your event by signing up here. Let us know if you’re taking part, make sure you take lots of photos and videos and share them online using #CaptainTom100 and tag our social media account: @_VAO on Twitter, @visionaidoverseasuk on Facebook, and @vision_aid_overseas on Instagram. So what are you waiting for, sign up today! The Captain Tom 100 challenge has been set up by The Captain Tom Foundation, for all charitable causes in the UK to create fundraising events in his name, to celebrate his life and continue his legacy of hope.
