Fundraising Safely During Covid-19 restrictions it is important to follow government guidelines when planning or taking part in fundraising activities. If restrictions allow contact with people not from your household please follow all recommended guidelines, such as social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks. For more information on health and safety guidelines please visit hse.gov.uk. Whilst taking part in fundraising activities please keep in mind the anxieties and concerns of others during these challenging times. It is not recommended to collect cash donations at present, so please use online payment or donation methods, such as setting up a fundraising page through JustGiving. When considering a fundraising challenge or activity please consider only carrying out low risk activities, such as virtual fundraising events, running or cycling as an individual or with your household etc. High risk activities should be avoided, such as open water swimming, as they often require support from emergency services, whose attention should be focused on the current crisis and not supporting fundraising events. When promoting your fundraising activities please try to do this through digital platforms, from Whatsapp groups, to emails or social media, and not in person. Please display Vision Aid Overseas charity number where appropriate and we can provide you with an authorisation letter to prove that you are fundraising for us. Please donate your fundraising money through our website visionaidoverseas.org/donate or call 01293 535 016 to donate by card. You can also send us a cheque, made payable to ‘Vision Aid Overseas’, or make a bank transfer, please email [email protected] for more details. If restrictions are lifted and it is safe to gather sponsorship in person please use this sponsorship form. Please protect yourself from fraud and carry out necessary checks before making any donations or payments online or over the phone. If you are selling or making food, please follow relevant food safety guidance. Visit the Food Standards Agency for more information.
