Tathan McShane Before I go on, thank you very much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

I am raising money for Vision Aid Overseas as I will be going to Zambia in July of 2018 alongside fellow professionals working in optics to help develop and improve the eye care services there. Since I began studying optometry I have always wanted to put my skills and knowledge to good use and there is no better way than to help Vision Aid Overseas with their mission. Vision Aid Overseas do a lot of fantastic work and have the aim of a world where no one living with poor sight because of poverty; the focus in more recent years has been to help countries to try to establish and develop self-sustaining vision centres and it's in one of those settings that I'd be volunteering in.

On my assignment in July, the focus will be on training local people and helping to develop their skills around low vision. This is an element of optometry that I am particularly passionate about as it can often make the biggest difference in the quality of life and independence.

In order for this assignment to go ahead, I need to raise £1,700, every penny of the money raised will go towards fighting preventable sight loss and to providing eye care services for those less fortunate than ourselves.

With your help, I hope that I can achieve this target and furthermore to go on and make a difference to peoples' lives in Zambia.

EVERY donation no matter how big or small is massively appreciated and every little counts.

Thank you
Tathan McShane
