When you grow up with something you tend to take it for granted; good vision is such a vital part of ensuring a high quality of life that we often forget to think how life could be without it. Tasks such as cooking for your family, earning a living for your children or studying for your future can become challenging. The belief at Vision Aid Overseas is that 'no one lives in poverty because of poor eyesight; no one lives with poor eyesight because of poverty'.

In September 2018 I will be travelling to Ghana to volunteer with Vision Aid Oversees. This project consists of 2 weeks, the first being based in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana where the team will spend time with the students and assist in their clinical training to enable self-sustainability. The hope and aim of this is to leave the students behind with confidence and experience to continue providing high quality eye care to local rural Ghanaian towns and villages. This will be followed by the second week consisting of an outreach programme in rural areas of Ghana where the students and volunteers examine the locals eyes, allowing them to have access to eye care and spectacles.

Everyone deserves the right to clear vision and any amount of a donation can make a massive impact;
- Just £5 can pay for an eye test and a pair of glasses,
- £22 can pay for a day of training for an eye-care worker
- £100 can pay for a community outreach team to see 500 patients.
Your donations will help contribute towards this!
Thank you
