I've been planning to sign up for an assignment for years, and finally, the time has come!
One simple and clear vision: To provide children and adults in Africa with the gift of good sight, the chance to learn, and the chance to earn.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is more than an eyeball phenomenon. My walk is to bring awareness that Myopia is a human being condition, not just the eye, and new perceptions about eye health and wellness are available. Technology may not be the only answer. Awareness and self responsibility of the human is the real cure for the epidemic of Myopia that can lead to severe eye diseases that limit joyful and deep living.
I am going on an assignment in May 2019 for 2 weeks to teach low vision to Optical students in the north of Zambia.
