To support the work of Vision Aid Overseas
Thank you for taking the time to visit my donation page.I, along with 4 colleagues from Gartnavel, am going to Zambia in September with Vision Aid Overseas to help volunteer and provide eye care service to the local community. Most of the local community there does not have access to simple health care services. We are going to help by running outreach programmes where we will be testing the eyes of the local community. As a volunteer team leader with Vision Aid Overseas I have to pay some of the cost of the upcoming assignment but the charity also contributes. The more money I raise the less the charity has to pay out, and so their funds can go further towards preventing avoidable blindness
To raise money to for a team of volunteers to go out to train and educate local people about eye care and provide people living in povety with affordable glasses.
Fundraising to sustain and flourish the rescources available to patients in Zambia. In the past 12 months, 58,302 eye tests have been carried out by volunteer optometrists of which 25,508 were given glasses. All of this was possible through fundraising. So, please donate any generous amount for Vision aid overseas.
I have been given the amazing opportunity to take part in the GREAT ETHIOPIAN RUN that is put on by Vision Aid Overseas. I will be representing my store, Specsavers Harborne, in the mission to give back the blessing of vision to those less fortunate in Ethiopia! To do this, I must raise a minimum of £2,600 to donate towards Vision Aid. I would soooo appreciate your help in reaching this goal! I will be doing vigorous training to make sure I am physically ready for the task ahead. I have always w
Many of us don't always appreciate the simple gifts of life such as the ability to see and the ease at which we can access a simple eye test and get glasses to improve our vision. Approx 10% of the world's population have poor eye sight, just due to the lack of access to eye care.
I am running the 10k Ethiopia Run to raise funds for vision aid overseas. £5 can provide an eye test and glasses for one child. I hope to help as many children as possible to enable them to persue their dreams of an education.
To raise money for vision aid overseas to bring clear sight to those that are without as no one should go through life feeling isolated from the rest of the world.
Raising money for Vision Aid Overseas by running the Great Ethiopian Run in November! Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
I will be fundraising with a target of£1,700 for my assignment in January 2018.
In October 2017 I am volunteering on a Vision Aid Overseas assignment to Nekemte in Ethiopia where there is very little provision of Eye Health Services, and am fundraising for this very worthwhile charity.During the visit I will be training Ophthalmic Nurses and Eye Clinic Technicians in the local Vision Centre as well as performing eye tests in the local hospital.

I love helping people to see and I think it is time to share my skills. 640 million people world wide are visually impaired simply because they need glasses.
I would like to give myself the added incentive during the training hours and the event itself that my efforts will be helping others in their daily lives.
I am fundraising for Vision Aid Overseas to help train and teach the students studying in their home countries to be able to carry out vital sight saving tests. It will help support the outreach centres and ensure easier access to Eyecare to those who need it most.
This is an amazing oportunity to provide eye examination, spectacles and training for sustainable eye and vision service in Ethiopia. I trully believe that everybody has the right to good sight and no one should live with poor eyesight because of poverty.
Please help me to help Vision Aid Overseas provide affordable eyecare in Ethiopia

Do you, like 74% of the UK population wear glasses or contact lenses? If you do, you know only too well how hard daily life would be without them! Could you do your job properly? Could you study effectively?
Having been to Africa with another charity I have seen first hand how much need there is for eyecare provision in the Third World.
Over 640 million people worldwide can't see properly. This means that they can't get educated and they can't work. Vision Aid Overseas have walk-in clinics all over the world, so that patients can receive eye examinations and spectacles. This means that that children get an educated and adults can support their children. VAO also train local people to provide sustainable eye care within their communities. Please help me raise funds for this charity, which has such a huge impact on peopl
670 Million people around the world face poverty just because they can’t afford an eye test or glasses. Something can be done about this, and charities such as Vision Aid Overseas are.
I feel passionately about all girls having the opportunity of an education and we know that in some developing countries this isn't always the case. But did you know that even when girls do get the chance to go to school, they can't always learn because they can't see what the teacher is writing on the board. Vision Aid provides the opportunity for all children to increase their ability to learn and raise themselves out of poverty - and that is why I want to raise money for this charity.
To help bring the gift of sight to the 670 million people of the world classified as blind simply because they have no glasses
I feel honoured and privileged and extremely exciting to say I will be going to Zambia in October with Vision Aid overseas. I would like your help in raising some money for this amazing organisation. 640 million people worldwide cant see properly simply because they need glasses!

The outcome of this assignment is to train students in Ghana to be able to sustain and carry out adequate eyecare in there country.
I am raising money for Vision Aid Overseas and running my 9th London Marathon.
I am joining an assignment in Ghana to supervise and share skills with Optometry students. The aim is to help them develop the skills they will need to provide ongoing eyecare in the region. We will also travel to remote villages to conduct eye tests, supply glasses and identify eye conditions.
I, Parminder Kaur Rai aka Pam (this 'so called' princess) will be 'roughing it out' in Zambia for 2 weeks in June for an amazing cause; providing eye care so that children in Africa who can’t see can learn and get an education, and adults who can’t see can earn to support their families and contribute to their communities, and help Vision Aid Overseas to achieve their mission to fight poverty by transforming access to eye care and glasses in Africa.I need to raise as much as I can befo
