New vintage eye wear brand, Retrospecced signs partnership with Vision Aid Overseas to help bring affordable eye care services and glasses to people in Africa.

Retrospecced is a unique social enterprise founded in 2017 by Tracey and Lucy, a mother and daughter who are passionate about sustainable fashion and believe in the power of business to be a force for good.

The brand recycles and refurbishes retro and designer spectacles, some of which are sourced from Vision Aid Overseas’ warehouse, and donates 20% of the profit generated through sales to support the life changing work of Vision Aid Overseas. Retrospecced are also able to glaze the frames with customers’ prescriptions, and offer a range of customisation options including mirrored sunglass lenses – giving each frame a new lease of life!

Lucy Crane from Retrospecced told us:

Retrospecced has a fantastic selection of frames which it has upcycled, and by choosing their next pair of frames from us, customers are also raising money to help disadvantaged adults and children in Africa to see clearly. It’s a win-win situation for all involved!

Sarah Namusobya, Fundraising Officer, Vision Aid Overseas added:

Retrospecced is a great example of how one man’s trash can really be another man’s treasure. This simple but unique idea will help Vision Aid Overseas in enabling many more children and adults in Africa to see clearly to be able to prosper in their normal day-to-day life.
