About us News Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone & Zambia sign Commitment to Universal Eye Health. Between 27th and 30th October 2016, The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness’ (IAPB) 10th General Assembly took place in Durban, South Africa. With the theme “Stronger Together”, the conference welcomed over 1150 delegates from 100 countries, including representation from Vision Aid Overseas and other eye care charities and Foundations, to discuss and agree action and to explore partnerships on public health topics related to blindness & visual impairment around the world. During the closing ceremony , an advocacy campaign was announced which aims to draw the attention of the Ministries of Health around the world over to their commitment to the Global Action Plan, and to Universal Eye Health. Vision Aid Overseas is delighted by the news that Zambia, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone, all countries where Vision Aid Overseas is working, are among the first four countries that have signed the Commitment.
