Volunteer Irvine Aitchison Memorial Fund The Irvine Aitchison Memorial Fund (IAMF) is a charity that was established in 1966 in memory of Irvine Aitchison. In view of Irvine’s special interest in education, the IAMF has focused on providing opportunities for students of optometry and dispensing optics to broaden their horizons and gain new insights into their professions. The IAMF no longer provide bursaries to students to join a VAO overseas assignment. The programme ended in 2018. The final 2 students, selected from the last round in 2018 will travel in August 2019. Winners of the 2018/19 bursary are Sadaf Khan and Iram Ahmed, both from City University, who will be travelling to Zambia in August 2019.
