Dollond & Aitchison, the UK retailer, was acquired by Boots in 2009. Before the merger D&A were longstanding supporters of Vision Aid Overseas, loaning us their training centre in Birmingham and raising over £70,000 in 2008 for our work in Ethiopia. |

Vision Aid Overseas would like to thank Rodenstock who have supported our work for a number of years and make regular donation of lenses and frames to the charity. In 2011 they made a significant donation to support the cost of sending a journalist to Zambia. This donation has helped to keep the administrative costs of this visit to a minimum and supports Vision Aid Overseas' work to raise of avoidable uncorrected refractive error in developing countries. |

Specsavers Opticians, a Titanium member, is delighted to continue their support of Vision Aid Overseas. Specsavers stores throughout the UK have collection bins where customers can deposit their unwanted glasses so that they can be used to give people in developing countries the valuable gift of sight. Several Specsavers opticians have also visited Africa with Vision Aid Overseas to give sight tests and dispense glasses to those who would not normally have access to such services. Vision Aid Overseas and Specsavers have a major fundraising partnership aimed at developing eye care services across Zambia. In May 2013, Specsavers and Vision Aid Overseas were nominated for a prestigious Business Charity Award for best overseas project partnership. |

A long term supporter of VAO, the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) is the only professional body in the UK solely dedicated to the interests of dispensing opticians, both individually and collectively, and to the profession of dispensing optics. |

The AOP promotes the profession and development of high professional and clinical standards, as well as representing the needs and interests of individual optometrists and dispensing opticians. |

The museum, housed at the College of Optometrists in London, is the world’s oldest specialist optical heritage collection open to the public. It assists Vision Aid Overseas to identify antique items of eye wear that have been donated and to find suitable homes for those items deemed unsuitable to send abroad. It also collects historic archival material relating to various eyesight charities and interprets their work via its public displays and temporary exhibitions. |

The Clothworkers' Foundation was set up by The Clothworkers' Company in 1977 and aims to improve the lives of people and communities, particularly those facing disadvantage. Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded grants totalling £82m. |

The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians Every two years the FMO donates a free stand to Vision Aid Overseas at Optrafair. This high quality optical conference gives us the opportunity to engage with optical professionals and businesses from all over the UK and Europe. |

The WCSM was founded in 1629 by Royal Charter to promote assistance to the visually impaired. Today, one of its key roles is to provide training and accredited qualifications for optical technicians and optical practice support staff. It also runs a charitable fund - The Spectacle Makers' Charity - which ranks Vision Aid Overseas highly amongst the many causes that it supports. |
