Tigsti is a technician and manager of our Vision Centre at the Quiha Eye Hospital in Ethiopia.

Tigsti is 22 and was born in Quiha. He lives with his mother who is a nurse at the Quiha Eye Hospital and his brother and two sisters. After completing secondary school, Tigsti got into college to do a seven year part time course in civil engineering.His job at the Vision Centre is helping to fund his way through college and also means he can contribute to supporting the family. He should be with Vision Aid Overseas for at least five more years and is looking forward to training the new technical staff when he leaves to become an engineer.Tigsti has a good command of spoken and written English; he is a very pleasant young man and takes his job at the Vision Centre very seriously. His commitment has already shown through and because of this has been appointed Vision Centre manager.
